TIP #12

Setting the scene: Public or Private Proposal? Research shows that the majority (around two third’s) of women prefer a Private proposal, however you know your girlfriend best so pick a situation that you know she will love.

TIP #13

Does your girlfriend want to see her name in print? Then maybe the newspaper is the answer. Get in touch with local paper for a heart-warming  proposal that's close to home.

TIP #14

Video Star: There are plenty of YouTube sensations to inspire you out there (http://www.glamour.com/weddings/blogs/save-the-date/2013/02/12-most-viewed-marriage-propos.html)
However if you’re more low key you don’t need to be one of them to get the answer you’re after!

TIP #15

Keeping it simple: Simple yet effective ways to propose that are more low key aren’t to be sniffed at…
Show her you’ve not forgotten how it all began. Propose at the place where you first met, had your first date or kiss.

TIP #16

Puzzling: Does she like jigsaws? Ask someone to take a picture of favourite location. Then take the same picture with you holding up a ‘Will You Marry Me’.
Buy a box. Get the first ‘scenic’ photo printed as a label to fit the lid. Have the second photo (of you) printed on a jigsaw to go inside the box.
Make sure the ring is ready for when she nears completion!

TIP #18

Does your other half love her job? Try and integrate this in your proposal.
E.g. If she’s a teacher get the children to hold up a sign when she enters in the classroom in a morning. Be hiding behind them on bended knee.
Or if they work in design/construction try and get a design/plan drawn up integrating ‘Will You Marry Me’ into it, getting someone to hand it to her for proof reading/checking.

(This idea isn’t advisable if she dreads going to work each day!)

TIP #19

Golfers? Have a golf ball personalised with the ‘magic words’. You’ll have to walk ahead a bit; when she come looking for her ball for the next shot shout her over to the one you have strategically placed… the rest is up to you!

You don’t even have to be a ‘real’ golfer, this could also work at the local mini golf!

TIP #20

Carefully disassemble a Kinder Surprise. Put the ring in the capsule in place of the toy, re seal, and offer her the chocolate when the moment strikes!

TIP #21

Sound sleeper? If your girlfriend is a sound sleeper slip the ring on her finger and watch for her reaction when she wakes.

This may not be suitable for everyone!!

TIP #22

Make her work for it by sending her on a treasure hunt! Make the questions relevant to the both of you and the things you’ve done to keep it extra special. She may know what’s coming but she’ll love it all the more.

TIP #23

Hire a magician to be ‘busking’ in the street. As you go by together stop to watch a few of his tricks, pre-arrange it so that after one or two he’ll make the ring appear…

TIP #24

However you propose, stick with tradition and get down on one knee. Not only does it show respect it will let more light hit the diamond and make it sparkle!

TIP #25

Why her? Don’t forget to tell her why you want to marry her! Why is she the love of your life? How does she make you feel?

TIP #26

Don’t ask without either a ring, or even just a token of some sort!
A survey by The Knot found, "proposing with no ring" was ranked #1 as the biggest engagement faux pas a man could make.

TIP #27

YES!: Whilst you’ll want to shout your wonderful news from the rooftops, make sure you tell your nearest and dearest by traditional means before updating your Facebook status!
